Hoffmann Hayes, a collaboration of Jane Hayes and Daniel Hoffmann, animates healthy food programming, gardens, and farmers’ markets through an inclusive community development approach. Together, we incubate individuals, organizations, communities, and companies into right relationship with food, agriculture and community service.
Hoffmann Hayes was launched in 2012, and currently has four core services:
Organic Community Gardens and Farms — working with Developers (such as The Daniels Corporation and Tridel) to bring to life Organic Community Gardens at condos, apartments, and on vacant lands.
Farmers’ Markets – weekly, seasonal, and pop-up Farmers’ Markets, featuring local, sustainably produced food. Among our projects are The Backyard Farm & Market at Erin Mills, and working with Oxford Properties to animate a pop-up market at the Royal Bank Plaza.
Urban Agriculture Consulting –offering site and program design guidance on how to move your urban agriculture project forward
Artisanal Farmers’ Market Gift Bags – working with small-scale sustainable farmers and producers to bring delicious, healthy food to the community in an eco-friendly, reusable gift bag
Hoffmann Hayes hopes to see the day when there is a garden and market within walking, rolling or biking distance of every child and to see our cities led by generations of lifetime gardeners and naturalists. Growing a culture of gardeners and sustainable food communities and staying with projects over time is our commitment to helping this vision become a reality.
