About the Farm

The Cutting Veg Organic Farm is located in Brampton, Ontario, approximately 30 minutes from Toronto. The farmland is owned by The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, and thus is protected from development.

The Farm is leased by FarmStart, a non-profit organisation that facilitates, supports and encourages a new generation of farmers to develop economically viable, locally based, and ecological agricultural enterprises. FarmStart runs “Incubator Farms” which offer access to land, equipment and infrastructure at reasonable rates, along with business planning support, technical training, mentorship and experience with ecological and emerging farming methods. On this “incubator farm”, there are approximately 20 Organic Farmers who share the land, working cooperatively yet independently to cultivate thriving farm businesses.
